A chewy and sticky Japanese treat.

It is said the moon is home to a rabbit diligently pounding mochi into shape. While we don't know if that's true, these fluffy and white traditional mochi cakes by Kimura certainly remind us of the age-old folklore. Each of these 4 glutinous rice cakes have a refreshingly sweet filling of red bean paste made from Hokkaido-grown red beans. Simply heat up in an oven, a frying pan or even in a toaster until lightly browned.

 

Background

Mochi is a traditional Japanese sticky rice cake made by pounding well-soaked, glutinous rice into a paste. It can be eaten plain, in soups, or with sweet or savoury fillings or toppings.
