Premium matcha green tea powder is perfect for using in cooking or to make the Japanese matcha green tea drink.

 

The leaves are steamed, dried and reduced to fine powder; there are two types, the koicha (thick) that comes from plants older than 30 years, and usucha (thin) that comes from plants under the age of 30 years.


Tea matcha is also used as a spice or natural colorant in foods such as mochi or soba noodles, green tea ice-cream and a huge variety of wagashi cakes, cookies, tiramisu, chocolates, ice creams, industrial and handmade, cream-caramel, muffins, milkshakes, slush drinks).

 

Use about 2 grams for 1 dl of 80-degree water. Whisk vigorously in a deep bowl.
